Week of February 7th

Tuesday

Grade 1

Review of classroom items, numbers.

Introduction to vocabulary that identifies the planets, stars, sun and moon.

Grade 2

Collect word search homework.

Grade 3

Collect word search homework.

Grade 4   MONTHS OF THE YEAR

Students will continue working with the days of the week. Students will learn how to say what days they have their classes and activities. They will use their February calendar.

Students will then practice the months of the year. They will use the ordinal numbers to order the months. Then they will practice the formation of dates and identifying the months for specific holidays.

Grade 5  WEATHER

Students will continue to practice  identifying weather expressions.We will use pictures to cue the response. The weather will be related to the season. A practice handout will be completed in class. Students will describe the season and weather in their picture in Spanish.

Grade 6  REVIEW OF  CHAPTER 2-1 FOR TESTING

Students will be working with making vocabulary words plural. They will be able to talk about what they need or want using the approprate forms of the verb to want Querer and the verb to need Necesitar. In addition they will identify the third person singular form of these verbs. This will complete the grammar for this section of the chapter and will lead to a review for the quiz on Wednesday.

Grade 7  INTRODUCTION CHAPTER 5

Having completed Chapter 4, students will be introduced to Unit 5. Florida will be the topic of the cultural reading section. Students will read and discuss this before moving on to the viewing of the Fotonovela. Comprehension activities will follow.New vocabulary will be identified and noted.

Grade 8  REFLEXIVE VERBS

Students will be able to identify items used with reflexive verbs.(oral work)

We will use the smart board to illustrate new vocabulary.

Pair work to identify what you need and why you need it.(Handout)

Students will learn to use the reflexive verb in both its' conjugated and its' infinitive form. (Writing practice)

Day II SWBAT create a poster to illustrate a reflexive verb activity using a picture brought in to class.
