Music Ministry at St Mary’s

Please consider giving your time and talents to one of our musical ensembles. Help spread the good news by lending your voice or instrument to St. Mary’s music ministry.

Adult Choir: This choir enhances the 11:00 am. Sunday liturgy with music from classical, traditional and contemporary styles of choral music. They are also called upon to provide music for special celebrations such as Easter Vigil and Midnight Mass at Christmas. We are looking for singers in all voice ranges. The adult choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm.

Children’s Choir: This group is open to anyone from third to eighth grade and provides musical leadership for Sunday liturgies and school liturgies. It is a parish choir that rehearses on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

Contemporary Group: This group provides contemporary, upbeat musical praise for the 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm Saturday masses. The group is comprised of singers and a rhythm section. We will audition any interested singer or instrumentalist. The Contemporary group practices on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm.

Cantors: The cantors help to lead the assembly in sung prayer at all masses. A good voice and some ability to read music is required. Cantors rehearse as schedules permit.

Handbell Choir: St. Mary’s five octave set of handbells is used by this group to embellish and enhance many liturgies throughout the year. Some ability to read music is required for this group. We are in particular need of some ringers this year. The handbell choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 8:00 pm.

Children’s Handbell Choir: This group is open to anyone from fourth through eighth grades and enhances many Sunday and school liturgies throughout the year.

St. Mary Brass: This ensemble currently consists of trumpets, trombone, French horn and baritone. Experienced players are encouraged to audition for this group.

Instrumentalists: Any instrumental ability is welcomed and will be considered.

Lazarus Choir: A group of singers that come and provide musical leadership for funeral liturgies. We are in particular need for any singers for this group.
