Discipleship Grp

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

After the Alpha course, Discipleship Groups are opportunities to continue to grow in faith while connecting with friends, sharing food, and having fun. They are the next leg of the journey to becoming motivated and passionate disciples of Jesus.

Discipleship Groups with Fr. John Riccardo DVD or Online with YouTube Link

Fr. John Riccardo, lays the groundwork on how to become a daily disciple of Christ. This five-talk series creates a dynamic reversal of our focus from being inward and maintenance based to being outward and mission-oriented. This change occurs first in our hearts, through an encounter with Christ, then in our homes as we grow in our faith, and finally in our culture as we witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Discipleship Groups to help us grow as motivated and passionate disciples of Christ.

  • Session One – Call to Discipleship: Jesus Loved Andrew, and Cherished His Friendship
In this session, Fr. John begins the series by defining discipleship and digging deep into what a call to discipleship is. The first call to discipleship is not a call to go and do something, but rather, it is a call to draw closer to Christ in friendship.
  • Session Two – Cost of Discipleship: Slide Over, Take Your Hands Off the Wheel, and Let Me Drive
In this session Fr. John covers the cost that we all face in being a disciple. He talks about how we don’t become a Christian by rolling up our sleeves, but rather by holding up our hands in surrender.
  • Session Three – Rewards of Discipleship: What’s in it For Me?
What’s in it for me? Is that a selfish question to ask about living the life of a disciple. In this session Fr. John dives into how to answer that question in order to draw more souls to Christ.
  • Session Four – Life of Prayer of a Disciple: But Father, What am I supposed to do During All That Time?
What do you do during prayer? This session focuses on five essential questions that will help you build a better understanding of a life of prayer, which goes beyond just reciting the prayers you grew up with.
  • Session Five – Stewardship of a Disciple: Giving to God What Belongs to God
Time, talent and treasure are words you may hear when talking about stewardship. In this session, Fr. John takes apart our perceptions of what stewardship is and makes us realize that time, talent and treasure have little to do with it.
